I have a Maxwell 1200 Windlass. When pulling up the anchor last weekend, it stopped working. When I step on the switches, I hear the solenoid click, but the Windlass does not work.

Any suggestions?

Use the handle to make sure that it is not jammed then start by checking the battery, then the connections, then jumper the solenoid to see it the motor runs.
Is the motor fused? probably not but ??

Let us know.

Check the contacts at the foot switches. It sounds like a possible low voltage issue. A little CRC or WD40 should give you an idea or jump the switch in the rope locker.

I broke out my multi-meter and touched the leads to the two cables feeding the motor, hit the foot switch, and it started working!

Used it over the weekend, and it worked fine.

Thanks for the feedback. There is probably a dirty contact in the solenoid or battery cables or is it possible that you charged the battery?
