Who is doing any upgrades this winter? I got Lumitec underwater lights for my Scout. Got my Standard Horizon radio fixed. (When out of warranty, they charge flat $65 to repair). Needed a new speaker in the mic and new microphone wire. Got a new to me dink. Installing new coffee maker (old one's warming plate did not work). Need to replace tilt/trim motor on my outboard.

Just need some warm weather!

We were out at Montauk one year and while tied up at the dock the "sporty" in front of us had transom lights. Bait fish were all over the place in the lights and stripers came up to dine. The lights are a great update that lead to pleasant nights looking over the transom.

Love our lumitec and the fact that we did not have to put any holes in the boat to run 5 of them :)

I've had quattro's for 2 years no problems in fresh water. Also fixing cockpit fridge that never shut off and constantly freezing (and exploding) sodas. Adding autopilot, removing KVH and adding wireless network, battery monitor, dinghy davits and maybe hardwood flooring. Its been a busy winter!

Ultimately, we were hoping to upgrade to a bigger boat before the season. However, with the full insanity prices right now it's on hold...

Once the snow starts to melt and I can unwrap the boat I will most likely put a new VHF in. And I could use a new charplotter/depthfinder to replace the two separate units we have now.

My upgrade was replacing the snap-in Infinity woven vinyl flooring in my Chaparral. I purchased the boat last year and the only two factory options were two different shades (tan or gray) of a generic pattern. The snap-in vinyl is a great addition to boat but I never liked that the pattern didn't really match anything else in the boat (hull color, seat colors). I purchased a sheet of Better Than Teak woven vinyl and just finished cutting the pieces this evening. Adding a teak pattern to the flooring dramatically changed and upgraded the appearance of the boat. I'm installing the snaps tomorrow and will be ready for spring.

I plan on rebuilding one of my floor panels which is soft and tightening my rudder packing. The rudder packing is not very accessible and I have to play the stand on your head game to get to it.

Just a couple of small projects this winter. Attempt to sand down the starboard stove lid in the galley. Some previous owner thought it was fine to use as a cutting board. Not! And refinish the teak step into the cabin, probably with Cetol Light.

My ‘upgrade’ this year is downsizing by selling my 530!

Sold my house and im getting one on the south shore.

Having a boat with a 4’+ draft is not the way to go on the Great south bay!

Planning on getting a lower draft express that I can still run to Block etc.. and also pick up a small bay boat or jet boat to blast around

I would not recommend a jet boat.

I'm surprised, thought you loved being in Greenport.

Hey Mike
Yes i do but my 530 is getting too much without some helping hands & if i needed a marina to slip my boat on Long Island it's still my first choice. I cant say enough good things about Stirling and it's staff.
BUT, im selling my house and my new one in Center Moriches has a couple of deep water slips just out the back door!
So i'm thinking of something like a 2000'ish Cummins powered Formula 41PC, like i had years ago and then a real bay boat to zip around
