wiper blades need replacing -- who would carry the old style. I may replace the whole arm -- how do you remove the arm from the main body?

My hot water tank is under the aft berth and I think I am getting moisture which creates a small odor. Iam thinking of venting out side either on the stern or out the side any ideas??

(1) wiper blades - try BoatFix, I think they carry the old style or they have a retrofit new style. There's an Allen screw, I believe, that holds the arm on the motor assembly...

(2) Are you sure that tank isn't leaking? There should be no moisture if it isn't...

I looked at boat fix and I did not see a blade that attaches with a bolt and nut.
I have tried to remove the arm there is no Allen screw on the main body ! I don't know if it pulls up or is there a clip on the inside? (like some of the older cars)

the moisture(condensation) I am referring to is the heat from the water heater has no place to go.-- when there is no ventilation the air gets stale.

Hmmmm, I'm out of suggestions. Anyone else have any ideas on how the wiper??? Has anyone else experienced the condensation and stale air in the rear compartment???

I have the same wipers on my '82 3007 Aft Cabin.
I managed to get the Stbd arm to release using a mirror to find the clip and a small blade screw driver to pry on the clip...there is a small clip that, (I think) is supposed to release when you lift up on the arm....I WD 40ed the connection to the motor and it finally came off. I haven't been able to get the Pt side to release. If I can find new stainless steel arms, I will take pliers and carefully crush the Pt arm connection in order to remove it. I think it is made from that chrome plated zinc material that does not like salt water.Anyway, that is my plan. My straight blade length is 20" and it too has a small bolt and nut connection. I first tried to find a replacement blade but then decided to remove the arms and replace them. I am still in process....It is a 4 1/2 hour drive to the boat and work seems to interfere with my boating time.
Good luck to both of us! It is not easy to reach the connection on my boat.

why are you so certain it is condensation? could the tank be leaking??or the over pressure valve leaking? rudder shafts leaking? various sink ,shower drains, windows and assorted other hoses are more likly candidates.

There is no water in the bilge --so nothing is leaking --- head hoses were replaced last year and a new shower sump replaced two years ago.
If you don't circulate air in a compartment with moist heat you will experience a stale odor.

I will force the arm off the shaft and replace it with stainless.
Thanks for your comments.
