Owned my 440 ACMY for17 years and would buy it again.
 
It seems like this forum died a few years ago, not sure why. I sold my last Carver a few years ago and would love to get back into one but the wife lost interest. We just dayboat now.

I'm still here. Love my Carver. Cannot wait to splash her again this year.

Well the Voyager is still in Greenport and will be moving aboard April 1 after i close on my house sale.
Hope to move into new Center Moriches house sometime in May and if i still have the 530 Ill move it to the house

I'll be jumping into any/all of those discussion.
As the draft of my 530 seems to make it a poor choice for Moriches bay as well as the rest of the south shore ill need as much Intel as i can get
 
Still here, but cruising a sea ray since parting with my 440 express.
 
Fire island will be your only choice however getting from the inlet to your new home may be difficult. If you intend to sell the boat doing sea trials on GSB may be difficult.

I had a 4' Draft sailboat on GSB for 5 years and gave many a clam a headache

Yup, agreed-again thats why the 530 is already listed for sale! Already gave up the best slip @ Stirling Harbor & they're loaning me a slip for a couple of months until i close on the new house. even if sold ASAP- may have to take it to the house just to get a pic with it in the back yard. right now there is a 65'Hatt
 
I have had a Carver first 1986 -36 for 12 years and now 1998 - 455 for15 years best decision we made. IMG_0290 (2).JPG

Not a Carver owner at this time but plan to retire in about 4 years and buy to do the Great Loop.... I'll be following.. That 4608 looks like the perfect boat for the job.
 
I am jealou, my wife and I would love to do the loop.
This is a perfect boat for the loop, aft master with en-suite, bunk room, foreward suite and another head.
I was waiting for someone to correct me on the description , it’s actually a 455 Carver. Typing to quickl!!
My last Carver was a 3608.
It will be a few months before we launch again, and we can enjoy the boat.
 
I think I would rather have a CPMY for the loop. For one reason or another with all of the docking and locking it seems like the way to go.

I agree, yet very many ACMY make the loop
 
MYs are very comfortable as live aboards and given how long it takes to get the loop done they make sense. We did the Erie, Champlain, DSC and Okeechobee waterways and I wished for the cockpit many times.
