1981 3007 heating

HI All,

new question for those who might know. Having just taken the boat out for my first trip an 8 hour voyage from my old marina to my new marina. Wow I love this boat. Now on to my question. On the starboard side cabin wall I have what I believe is a propane heater.

On the floor port side just in front of the engine hatch the is a heater cover. One that looks like the ones you might have in your house. While moving the boat starting at ole dark hundred and freezing. Does anybody know does this boat have a heater that run off battery and if so how do I run it

I have a 1982 3007 and the grate that you refer to in the floor on the port forward side of the main salon is (on my boat) an air vent for the fridge that is under the floor and acessable from the galley. The vent allows air flow for the refridgerator compressor.
Yours may or may not be set up the same way.

Ditto for my 3007. I'd always wondered what that vent was for.

Regarding heat, mine has red dot heat which vents into the galley. The fan knob for it is on the dashboard of the helm, lower left. Just pull it. Works nicely.

If you have a covered flybridge, we've used the Mr. Buddy with success. Just strap it in and keep your eye on it. Another choice is wool blankets or even a 12v electric blanket.
