1985 Mainship Nantucket Double Cabin MY

The sea-trial went very well. The new 454s run so nice. She cruised at 20 mph with a top speed of 33. There where some problems with the jenny that need to be addressed. Im sending the fluid samples off this morning. I should have the results back by tomorrow afternoon sometime. If the samples come back clean will close on friday and bring her home this weekend. Ill keep you posted.

The deal is done! We will be taking are boat home this weekend. Hopefully i wont have to go through this again for a long time. Its a job buying a used boat. Can't wait to get her on the Hudson..

Cograts al...maybe we will see you out there this weekend if only the weather will hold out...

Congrats, Al - I'm working on getting you better weather...

You'll be a much tighter fit in my slip this year!

Thanks Honora! Im ready to take the Bayliner to the river when you get ready.

Butch, Im looking forward to it. I just hope the passage to the river goes well.

Mike, Im counting on you when it comes to this weather.. Its going to take a bit of practice on my part to get this bigger boat in your slip for sure. Hopefully having the extra wide slip at Viking will get me ready for it. Isabelle and i so much wanted to be at Penny Bridge Marina. The travel to her job from there was a little more then she could handle right now. Im sure we will be hanging out with you all at croton and bowline a good bit this season.

Wow, Al. So glad to hear that everything worked out for you guys.

Congrats again. I look forward to checking her out sometime soon. With a little bit of luck (including weather) we plan to be at the raft up this year.

Well its Sunday, 7:16 Pm.....Where are you al....The weather should have been good for the trip today....

Mike, The weather was a blessing. Thanks for your wave of the wand... There will be offerings in beer for you when we get together.

Ken, We look forward to seeing you again.

Pete, Thanks will see you on the river.

Butch, Thanks for your concern. It was a heck of a trip! We didnt leave out untill about 4:00 pm Sat. I wanted to change out all my fluids before we left. Had a problem with running out of fuel at the dock and needed some brought to the boat so we could get her fueled for the trip. We traveled from Norwalk to the Worlds Fair Marina near LGA and spent the night. Up early on Sunday to leave out. The weather was so nice and boating traffic was at a min. Hells Gate was the only rough area we came throw on the way home. We fueled back up at Haverstraw Marina and took her to the slip in Viking. Isabelle and i are looking forward to spending some relaxing time on the river. Hopefully the weather will be nice again this weekend.

Al, congratulations and I'm gald to see the trip was uneventful (other than the fuel stops). Would you mind if I dropped off the tranny fluid and deck tool and just left it on the boat? What row is it on?

Alternatively, you can pick it up on my boat at the CYC if you like.

Chris, If your in the area of Viking that would be nice. Im on A dock #24. Name on the back of the boat is Family Affair. I need to take care of you for that stuff. I don't know when this week i maybe able to get down there. Ill be there this weekend for sure. Feel free to go on board and check her out some. Talk with you soon..

Al congratulations! Glad you had a safe trip and that the boat performed well. That was a good idea changing out all the fluids.
When we pass by Viking we'll be sure to back down and give you folks a break. But then backing down from 10 knots isn't much is it! Enjoy.

OK, I can remember that, I'm on C-24 and my boat's name is "ohana" which means family in Hawaiian. A-24, Family Affair is not a stretch! BTW - my graphics are ready and should be installed tomorrow. I'll let you know if I'm happy, just in case you want to use the same guy, no need to "take care of me", consider it a housewarming present.

Good Luck with the boat! I can't wait until you get her bristol!

Chris, Thanks so much! Let me know how your boat turns out. I need to get Isabelles name on the mainship soon. It may take a little time, but she will be bristol. Talk with you soon.

Al, I was in Peekskill so I did the drop-off today. I considered leaving the box on the bow but didn't want the boxes to get any more damage. Instead, I left it on the aft deck, on top of the teak table.

Hey, that there's a big ass boat! With the aft cabin design, it must be huge inside.
I can't wait to see what she looks like with the mirror shine you had on the Bayliner. Best of luck to you and Isabelle!

Chris, Thanks again for droping that stuff off. This boat has more room in it then some 40's. Thats one of things that sold us on this boat. The other being that shes solid glass and one of the best boats Mainship ever built. Where very happy we found this boat at a good value. Where going to be on her this weekend, if your around please feel free to stop by for a cold one and a grand tour.
