I just purchased a 1989 21ft Bayliner Trophy with an OMC 3.0 engine and OMC Cobra outdrive. When running it on the trailer, water gushes out below the engine near where it bolts to the bell housing. My suspision is a rear engine freeze plug.
1. Can the engine be pulled using the hull sides? Will it hold the weight of the engine?
2. Does the outdrive have to be pulled in order to remove the engine?
Is there anything I need to worry about when attempting to do this job myself (somewhat mechanically inclided, but not experienced with this engine / outdrive).
Please help!!
