I believe my alternator is bad. When at an idle my gage starts buzzing. I also have trouble keeping my battery up. I have no manuals or anything on this boat. Can you please help me in knowing the right alternator? The only # on it I can find is 31-8600. It appears to have something mounted on it also. Also the steering on this boat is VERY stiff any clues? We also foumd out VERY fast that it is taking on water where the drive shaft comes through the hull at the engine. Is that hard to replace? Any tricks to it? What is it called? It appears to be packed with something and kind of a bolt and screw looking thing. Sorry needing so much info. Before, I just always jumped in mom and dad's and went.
