We are trying to take off the upholstered white railing along the back of the boat. It has gotten discolored overtime and it is time to have it reupholstered. We can get off all the pieces except the piece on the top of the transom door. We removed the obvious screws but still no luck. Has anyone removed the upholstered railing? Any suggestions?

Thank you

I have taken mine off my 1998 and yours should just be held on by screws. I cannot recall exactly but I seem to remember having to use a long screwdriver to get to some of the screws. Keep looking, if you are sure you have all the screws and brackets off, it could just be stuck and need a little persuasion to come off.

There are screws through some aluminum L brackets at each end and then some through the top of the transom lockers into some starboard boards

We have a 2002 Mariner and the padded bolster bracket was cemented to the top of the transom door. Looked like Carver used a half tube of adhesive . No screws at all.
I would follow Kens advise for your year , just wondering if they also glued as well.
