I need some help. I'm trying to replace the gauges on my twin merc 350 mag mpi's, 1999 built by chapparal. Smartcraft supposedly didn't exist then but the wiring to the gauges is not direct from the sensors. The gauges have a waterproof type plug on the back of them and the same 4 wires go to each gauge, yellow, white, dark blue, and red w/white stripe. The dual tach gauge has a fifth wire green.
I talked to a tech guy at one manufacturer and he had no idea what I have. I can't find the right number at Merc to call and ask. Does anyone here know who I can call or where to go to get some info or replacement gauges? Thanks for any help.
