200 HP Johnson Outboard 2 Stroke (Stalled)

looking for some advice. Was out all day with out a problem but while coming back into my slip after I slowed down to about 600 rpms my motor stalled and would not start back up. Motor now cranks real slow like she has a bad battery but will not start. I know usaully when there is no pre warning or surging and motors just cut out its usually an electrical problem. Did not have a chance to trouble shoot yet. Will check spark first than cylinders for water and compression. The slow cranking has me concerned that I might have a damaged motor. Anyone have any suggestions. Motor is a 2000 200 Hp Johnson 2 stroke. Thanks

Yes do check compression ethanol is killing 2 strokes.

Agree with Bruce on the mechanical recommendation and the editorial comment.

We had a V4 JohnRude that pulled the top off a piston and with the loss of compression it wouldn't keep running and couldn't re-start. A V6 like your 200 might carry a dead cylinder but not just sure.

Slow cranking concerns me too.
