I recently purchased a 2000 Regal 1800 LSR. This boat did not come with an owners manual, but I'm fairly familiar with boats as I have been around them for twenty years, however I cannot figure out what the 4 pronged female plug that is located in the bow just above the navigation light is for. Can anyone who owns a Regal 1800 LSR tell me what this is for? Thanks for your time, Eric

I believe it is for the trailer lights located at the stern. At least that's what is for on our 1900.

Unanimous - that is for the integrated trailer lights.

Congrats on the new to you boat!

Look for the male end coming out of a grommet in the trailer tongue. It plugs right in.

Hi Aboater,

I have a 2003 1800 LSR and not sure if there are many differences, however if you want a copy of the manual, I will gladly scan and forward a copy to you, on the quiet of course:-)

your trailer should have the plug on it, if not go to your local dealer and get one. My dealer just gave me one.. it really cool to see the stop lights work on the back side of your boat.
Im going to see if I can wire them into my running lights, so someone cane see me from behind in the water..

Jody, before you tie those in, you CAN be seen from behind, using your stern light.
If you were to add red lights to the stern of your vessel, you may be breaking regulations for navigational lights. If I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure I'll be corrected here shortly. JMHO

You are not wrong. Red lights serve a very specific purpose in the "rules of the road" and there placement on the boat acts as a stop light depending on which direction you are heading and which direction someone else is coming from. To misrepresent a Red navigation light on a vessel at night could be catastrophic ans is definetly against the law.
