I thought my next boat was going to be a Fly Bridge, but after taking my wife to see the one I wanted, you guessed it she didn't like it. Now I am looking at a Regal 3760 and was hoping for some reviews from owners who own one. I know Regal has always been known as a quality boat but that is all. Anyone help me out here with positive and negative on this boat. Thanks
Al

Al,
That's a big switch.

Depends on which 3760 Al.

The 3760 is available with both inboards or outdrives. There are different pros and cons of each setup. As Dave mentioned there is a lot of difference between the sedan and the 3760 express. (BTW - the 3760 was originally known as the 3560)

Currently interested in the 3760 Express. And yes Dave it is a total 360 that I was not expecting. So I need help here what am I looking for if I go with this boat

Any Regal owners have the 3760 or older 3560 looking for someone to tell me its the bomb.

Does the one you are looking at have inboards or outdrives?

No I have to have the outdrives. Very nervous of the water in the Great South Bay. Like to have less draft in the water plus would be cool to stretch out the engines every once and awhile at close to 50. Also looking at the volvo engines

We traded up from a 3060 to our 3560. My wife summed it up with she liked the old boat but loves this one. The cockpit and cabin layouts fit our style of boating perfectly. Everyone can ride up from with the u shaped cockpit seat and if it is a large crowd, there is a fold out seat in the stern or go with the hardtop and euro sunpad. The cabin has as much if not more storage than our friends 380 SR. We have volvos with the ocean series drives and have had some issues with them but Volvo has taken care of the problems under warranty. Ours is a 2006 so you may have the updated drives. The boat wants to cruise at around 28 to 32 MPH which is a lot faster than most of the people we boat with cruise at. It is nice to have the extra speed when outrunning a storm or to get to the anchorage first. After 3 years, we still love the boat.

Thanks for the reply Joe and Deb
That is what I wanted to hear. I am currently looking at an 07 with hardtop. Do you sleep out much and do you find the cabin adequate.

Well, i must tell you it is a great boat. I have the Volvo Penta IOs with 8.1 Gxi engines producing 420 hp and I have had the boat over 50 mph frequently. Topped out once at 52 mph, but that was with a little help from the current. bTW, I am sending you a PM as well.

I used to have an 04 3560 with Volvo Penta IOs with 8.1 Gxi engines. We loved the boat, very fast. Cruised 32 knots to 35 knots easily.

Front stateroom has a door. Good for privacy. Rear stateroom is large (just low ceiling). Kids loved that.

The salon seat converts to a good size bed (one person). Table hides away.

Storage is great.

I have a flybridge now. I prefer that. But for express, that Regal is a great boat.

I have a 3560/3760 inboards. The I/O's are terrific for performance and increased mileage -you'll easily see plus 10 mph against the inboards.

There is no other boat in this 35' class with better storage and accommodations below deck. The versatile cockpit is also a plus unless you are schooled in the overly-stuffed aft seating arrangement of a SeaRay, etal.

The hardtop is a must nowadays for practicality and resale (I don't have it).

Regal is a manufacturer that should survive the present economic situation.

I had an '05 3560 for 2 years, put 200 hours on it with minimal problems. My wife and I would stay on it for a week at a time, several times a year, and found it to be very comfortable and a pleasure to boat in. The V-berth with the standard inter-spring mattress makes for much better sleeping than those foam rubber ones found on a lot of boats. The wife loved the wood flooring in the cabin (the two storage units in the floor were the greatest). Other items that you will come to really appreciate would be the chase with the foot rest, sits very well, the separate shower unit, a nice size AC/DC refrigerator which would run all night (along with anchor lite) without running down the house battery, the AC/Heating unit does a great job providing even temperature control through out the boat, great access to most everything in the engine room. It's a great boat.

Al, We can be found on the boat most weekends from Friday to Sunday and sometimes even into Monday morning from April through November. The boat is very comfortable to stay on. We have been on it for as long as a week without killing each other. Friends of ours traded in their 3350 for an 07 hardtop this past fall. They demo drove a Formula and the Regal but came back to the Regal based upon the ride and handling. I think this is still one of the best cruisers in this size range for handling, storage and accomodations.

Can anyone explain why this boat only comes in at just over 15000 lbs when other boats of its size are in the 20000lb range
Al

Because it is only a 35 foot boat that was renamed a 37 would be my guess.

(Just like my 40 used to be called a 38 and before that a 37. Sad but true...)

We bought a new 2007 3760 hardtop late summer and love it. We are glad we did not get the 40 with the second stateroom and head, less space. I just hope we don't have a problem with the outdrives. We are out of serial number recall. Good luck.

Look at waterline length. The 3560/3760 LWL is just shy of 32' if I recall, and really compares in physical size to 32' models of other brands. The ingenious design and utilization of all available space lets it excel in comparison of boats up to 38'. This is no 38' boat. For example, the SeaRay 340 of 2003 to 2008 vintage is bigger physically than the Regal 3560/3760. Similar years SeaRay 320 matches up closer in size.
