2009 season countdown!

I sure hope Dave's boat is holding up to the extra weight! :)

I just got back from a week of diving in Key Largo. It was GREAT to be on a boat for 6 straight days!!!!

I spent today taking out storing my ice eater and cleaning up the cockpit on the boat. If the weather holds up, I'll be starting up the mains next Sunday, March 1st.....

If I have time, I'll take off the winter covers and put up the summer canvas....

Going down to Marathon and Key Largo for 10 days, renting a 29' Cat fishing boat. Gonna hit the reefs for Grouper, snapper and go out for some blackfin tuna.

Fishing reports coming in look good.

We went for lobster one day outside the protected area. It's amazing how the bugs in the protected area are so approachable and the ones outside the park run like the dikens...

We saw tons of grouper....some HUGE. I thought I heard the mate say that taking any grouper was prohibited.

TONS of school fish and baracuda.....here's a pic of the schoolies on one of the local wrecks...the Benwood....

and some baracuda on the Duane....

Well, it looks like I may have to change my plans a bit....

Mon
Mar 2

high: 28°
low: 18°
winds: From the West Northwest 22mph

Itched has been scratched.....I unwinterized two weeks ago..mains only. I've been out on the Bay twice just enjoying the time with no-one else out there....except there were 4 jet-skiers two weeks ago that couldn't resist jumping my wake.

If the weather holds up this weekend, I'll be taking my first diner trip by boat Sunday afternoon!!! Everyone will have to pee before we leave the dock....water systems are still winterized. :)

Very sad post considering Dominic passed away in 2012.
May he rest in peace!

I understand.

I had posted it, Dom passed away from a Brain Anurysim in September 2012 at age 56

Interesting, he is still anchored.
We need like a gold anchor!
