I am contemplating replacing the "exhaust elbow assembly", i.e., risers to my 7.4L Bravo engine, 1994, S.N. OK 038025. On the next page of the parts manual they list a riser for the 454 Magnum engine. Other than the "Mercruiser" casting on the Magnum part and a rubber cap rather than a pipe plug on the forward end, can one be interchangeably used with the other. Is the Magnum any better or just sexier? Is it priced differently? Also, this looks like a job I could handle. Are there any specific directions available? I realize that the coolant should be drained down to where none will enter the exhaust manifold.
