Does anybody have suggestions where I can get fuel tank for 1987 Carver Montego 3257. It is Starboard tank.
I am moving engine this weekend in order to pull tank out. It has a hole in bottom. .....Or does it need to be custom built...
Thanks Cap.

When I had to replace the tanks on my '86 3297 Mariner, I contacted a local fabricator. Any good welding company can fabricate a new tank-take the old tank to them to copy. It cost me about $800 back in 2007. With luck, the starboard tank can be pulled without removing the engine-just the right bank exhaust manifold. When I replaced the port tank, the whole engine had to be removed. I believe the Montego and Mariner have the same hull and engine room footprint.

The company that originally made the tanks for Carver back then has gone out of business, so it's going to have to be something that is custom made. We just had both tanks made for a 1996 390 Trojan at work, I'll try to get the name of the company and respond with it. On the subject, if the stbd tank has a hole, is the port one far behind? You may want to consider replacing them both since you're in there.

Thanks, I located a local aluminum fabricator. Will be ready this week.
