Hello Folks,

My canvas is pretty shot after 11 years. Was thinking about replacing the sloped diagonal aft piece with a "camper" arrangement. Would like to know if anyone has made this upgrade and has advice to share.

I would need to either remove the canvas entirely to run (as I do now), or have visibility to back into my slip and rapid access to the port side deck for line handling and bow access.

The two options seem to be a Taylor Fastback system (easy stowage but one-size-fits-all?) or a custom set of canvas, which may require support poles and glass work to bed them.

Would appreciate any advice or other options !

Cheers,

Mark

I've seen that Taylor fastback system on a Sea ray like yours. Very nice but a little expensive. If it fits the budget, I would go with that.

After some soul-searching, I had a local canvas shop fabricate full camper canvas - cost was ~$6200 to remove old canvas, fabricate and install new system. Although it has not been installed yet (winter cover is still on), the shop has made many such for other local Sea Rays, and has done great work in the past.

FWIW,

Mark

Best idea, in my opinion. Would love to see photos.

The one thing I liked about the Taylor Made fastback on my 370DA.....was the fiberglass bow rods....gave it alot of head room and was easy up and down. But it was expensive.

Would love to see some pics also......
