I crossed the bay, Friday, 8/11/06, because the water on the western shore was very dirty. The seas had 3 to 4, with an occasional 5 foot swell. And as always my planing catamaran hull supply me with a smooth, dry ride across to the eastern shore.

Fishing the eastern shore proved to be a good move. 99% of the striped bass that were caught on light spinning tackle were between 18" to 28". One 15" bluefish was also landed.

The water cooled down a few degrees from Wednesday and the highest temperature being 80 degrees. The water was clear with 2' swells.

Most Productive Lure:
Bass Assassin, 7", Opening Nite fished on a 1 ounce jighead

Fishing Tip:
Move around, at slow rpm's, when in a productive area. Go to structures first, and if you see working birds go and investigate the areas around where they're working.

Tight Lines,
