It was nice to get out Saturday and enjoy one of the nicest day I've seen in a while. The temp was good the wind not bad and water priceless. Only downside friends didn't show so I felt like a bit of a loner between two groups rafted up and having fun. I hope to get out again today to cap off a great weekend.

Been out on the hook since Friday evening and it's been excellent! Nice to see some decent weather.

BTW - congrats to the town of Haverstraw for doing their yearly tribute to this countries fallen. The Watch Fire is an awesome sight and reminder of those that have given the ultimate sacrifice to our freedom.

Dave, we saw you there in Bowline. We where in the group of four boats by the fishing dock. It was a great day out there. Hopefully summer turns out to be better than spring...

We spent the weekend in Bowline with Starry Night, Wake-n-Waves, Relentless, Knot on Call and Luna Sea. A great time was had by all.

Four boats coming in hit the wall!

One even manage to power right over the wall!!!!!

Dangerous place that Bowline.

And Im sure he will be paying for his mistake soon enough...

Hey all,
I am at Haverstraw Marina for the first time this summer and have been hearing a lot about Bowline. Since I see you discussing it I am wondering. I hear that it is a great place to hang out but you need to know how to get in and out. Any advice?

I just want to say thank you to Rommer for coming to may aid today and giving a ride to my son and his friend after I sucked rocks into my jetskis' intake. It was a big help my son would have been late for work if not for the ride. I got very lucky that the rocks blow out when I tow it home, I guess all well that ends well. This weekend goes in the book as a good one my blood presser may not agree, but I had a good time.

Amy, the best way to learn how to get in is to follow someone who knows where the channel is. There is a solid wall that spans most of the entrance that is about 6" under water at low tide. That is what the four boats hit this weekend.

The other thing is that holding can be so-so, lots of boats break free. You need to have LOTS of scope out - it's about 30' deep.

Three boats rafted up today broke free and sailed across the pond in about 30 seconds.

By the way I must say Starry Night that is a good looking boat you have I enjoyed looking at it. I don't often get to see it from that angle I hope it treats you well.
Five more days till the weekend!

Thanks Hogan. I hear that people love Bowline but I have been afraid to check it out. I will wait until I have someone to follow in. When the wind is out of the north is that the best option or south of Croton? Any other hotspots?

Amy;

Where are you located in Haverstraw? I have a 32' Silverton on Green 70. Stop by and say hi, we will be happy to show you how to get into bowline, aka the mudhole.

Was a good weekend again. A little less wind out of the North would have made it perfect.

Got out both days and had a good time.

Your welcome, glad I could help.

Get that pressure down and enjoy the water!

Thanks Pete. We are on silver dock. Silver 31. I will come say hello. Would love to follow you in sometime!!

Yes Mike it was a great weekend. The kids had a great time. The adults had a great time. Let's hope the bounce/trampoline survives the season. I must admit it was not as bad as I thought inflating and deflating.

Koodos to you for being the last one up on Saturday. Not on Friday, you did pull a Nowicki.

Thanks, You too Audrey.. It was nice looking at yours as you were making your approach in the pond. Definitely a different vantage point when looking at one vs being on one. BTW, when we were at Capri on Memorial Day weekend, we saw two 440 Trojans that were moored in Port Washington. What were the chances of that happening.

I Like Capri I have not been there in a few years maybe next year, this year I think all my trips are spoken for. Did you go to Louie's it's kind of a must when you're there.
I read in an other post you that you went away for the weekend I didn't know where but glad to hear you all had a good time. Memorial Day weekend is always such unpredictable weather I guess we all lucked out this year.

Here ya go, Dave:
