First shot is just as the storm approached, see the lightning bolt to the left, the rest are the result of the rain!

Mike;

It's now 10:15 in central Jersey, there's more on the way!!

I was hoping the heavy rains would wash away the damn gnats but unfortunately our boat is covered again this morning.

Anyone know a good repellent that doesn't harm gelcoat, canvas or isinglass?

If anyone finds one, I sure would like to know about it...This is the worst I have ever seen them. I burn a citrenella candle when I can watch it but the minute it goes out they invade again.

Try the Georgia lowlands in May! A cloud of them follows everyone around and they bite. We never found a way to keep them off either but we know the sparrows come around in the morning and pick them up. I think they get stuck in the morning dew.

We got a good dousing last nite (again) and the forecast includes more. Right now the Esopus is at the action stage and the Rondout is also. Dang muddy up here all season.

Oh crap - action stage again??? Gotta go look at the website...
