Guests came in from out of town and it forced me to play hookie this morning and take them snorkleing off Ft Lauderdale ... it was perfect except we got on the ocean, settled everything down, hit the gas and nuthing but cavitation....no forward motion. Uh oh.
So we crusied up to the bouys at 8 knots ... tied up and I jumped in to find my props covered in barnacles on both the leading and trailing sides - fugly.
Dive nife and a bit of elbow grease and the tropical fish surrounded us to eat the barnacles ... really nice clear and lively for two hours...a beer and snack and we headed home before noon. Home at 35 mph without a hitch.
A quick shower and off to work until 6 ... then we decided to do an after dark cruise of the ICWW and out the Hillsboro inlet to check out the skyline - lovely....starting to remember why I live here and why I spent 2 years working on this project boat.
