Has anyone heard from Tony at Airgen in the last few months? I need to place an order for an AC unit that boatfix doesn't carry and I don't have his number.

He quoted me a decent price at the end of the summer when he was still at SPBM.

Try PennyBridge, they sent a couple of guys to generator school. Tony seems to be MIA.

I need to buy a larger unit Mike. Tony quoted a fair price off list. I know PB is going to do repairs but will they be selling new units?

BTW - I asked the boatfix help desk about the model I wanted and they told me they don't carry it. I'm looking for the 18,000BTU vector compact unit from Marine Air. On really hot days the 16K we have in the salon struggles to keep up. The 18K is still 110volts so it would be a drop in replacement.

Tony is NOT working for himself anymore. I have his bat phone #. (Hence working on the side) I spoke to him about 2 weeks ago. Can I provide the number in this forum??

I'm surprised BoatFix can't order it for you.

I tried Chris. Gave them the model number and everything and got back a very short message saying they don't carry it. Not even we will see if we can get it. I suspect that certain models are only available via the trade as opposed to distributors and retailers.

We should let Mike chime in on the phone number thing but I suspect he won't have a problem with you posting Tony's number blackdog.

No problem posting his number.

John, check out the Ocean Breeze units, I bought one and am very pleased

I don't think anyone other than Marine Air offers an 18k BTU unit in 110 volts. I'll take a look though. The nice thing about the Marine Air for me is the drop in replacement. One control box takes care of the water pump needs for both units on the boat.

Appreciate the info, I'll take a look...

Thanks for the info Leigh and phone number blackdog.

I'll try Tony first as I'd like to put a few dollars in his pocket if I can. He was always nice to me.

rommer, they make 16,700 BTU & 20,000 BTU units - 110 volts, check out their ebay store.

Can't seem to find their ebay store. One thing I noticed on the regular website is that the units do not seem to be reverse cycle for heat. Is yours that way?

They don't have reverse cycle, they have a heating element, which is nice because you don't need water to run it. It puts out plenty of heat.

go to ebay and do a search under "air conditioning Ocean Breeze". You will get a number of hits, then just click on one and then click on the "visit my ebay store"

That's a great feature John. See if your control pad can interface with that unit, if so, that's a home run for you.

The only problem is that with only a 2kw heater element the BTU's would be too low for my boat. One of the downsides of having a sedan bridge. Lots more area to heat and cool.

2Kw = 6824BTU's vs the 16,000BTU's I have now from that unit. I use the full 32,000BTU of heat when it's cold.

FWIW I get 0 hits on ebay Mike. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

http://stores.ebay.com/Ocean-Breeze-ac John, I have the 16K unit, it heats and cools my entire boat just fine. In fact, it gets too hot when I put the heat on.

Just an FYI, I spoke to Tony today and he asked that I pass along that he is back working for himself if anyone needs air or genny work. His email is genairtech at hotmail dot com

Deeeese eeees a weenter jooob!

PBM already has mine fixed and ready to go back in the boat. I'll stick with them.
