Al, ever survey a boat that was previously sunk?

Thanks, Ghost, this is helpful. I didn't realize that the moisture could wick up the wire strands but it certainly makes sense, now that you pointed it out.

I remember seeing a picture of the boat when it sunk with a brief caption on what happened. Might have been in the Boat/US insurance newsletter. This pretty much describes what I remember -

quote:

The scenario as I envision it from what the broker told me is that they ran aground at low tide, left the boat, the tide went lower and the boat tipped onto one side and then, as the tide rose, water flowed into the boat through the open port holes too fast to allow it to float.

The tide went out after the boat went aground, and it then rolled on its side with the tide falling and nothing to keep the boat upright since it's a single engine with a deep keel. When the tide came back up it ended up completely submerged.

Yes that is the same boat, but it is for sale in the US by PAE, NW brokerage in Seattle. I suspect that they are up front about the sinking. No idea why a German brokerage is listing the boat--but it is a bit suspicious that they might not tell of the sinking?
