I stopped by to check on the boat and I looks like a good shrink job I hope it holds up well. Then again I hope it has nothing to hold up against, I'd love a mild Winter. The weather was pretty nasty out today it was not one of those days that I wished I was on board.

While I was there I saw that the Hogan VI has found its Winter home just a few boats away. No I did not measure your draft my head still hurts from Scary Night, but I am interest to know when you check it out.

It's going to be a long Winter!

A threesome for the winter. I wonder if there will be a brood of little Trojans next year???
 
I thought trojans were supposed to prevent reproduction?
 
Look at it this way. What you folks normally go through in the spring we are doing now. Worse, we had to do it in a remote area of Georgia that incurrs some hefty shipping charges.
Winter will pass quickly.

That's why God invented Alcohol. Hey, I did not see my shadow today, I guess we will have an early spring. Yeah!....
 
Dan are you still stuck waiting for parts? If so when do you plan on starting the trip?

Dave as of yesterday we are done waiting on parts. We're now ready to go but the forecasts are either dead wrong or very misleading. We keep hearing folks say it's flat out there but if you check out the forecasts for the stream there are 6 footers out there. I'm thinking the folks reporting conditions are close to shore.
Our experience tells us it lays down as you approach the Florida coast from the east (duh). We were in 4-6 coming back last Spring but once out of the stream in in sight of land things were much calmer. In fact it was calm enough the S.O. let me take a break after 6 hours.[:-bigeyes2]
 
Dan, keep an eye on Ida, some forecasters are calling for her to drift south, reform and head back east.
 
Dan just be safe out there. Better to hold up a few extra days than try to star in the remake of Gilligan's Island.... BK...:--)))
 
Yeah, that's our policy. We're holed up almost two weeks already. We're thinking we should move South and hang out somewhere else for a while. The forecast keeps flipping around between ok, and ugly for us. Let's face it 4-6 on the beam in a hard chined motor yacht without a lower station is no fun for anyone. Besides, we want the furniture to stay in one place.
We had a shot at Monday but once again they have changed it to 4-6 in the stream. I think they should have named that low PITA instead of IDA.

A few boats we've been in touch with have left and gone home. We figure it's still warmer than Kingston so it's a positive anyway.
 
A wise man once told me if it's a PITA you're doing it wrong. Actually I'm not sure that he was a wise man or just a man being wise.
 
PITA or no, we finally got across. It flat out sucked for the first three hours but it laid down once we were out 25 miles. All of the stuff in the cabinets fell out the first time they were opened. To give you an idea what it was like, we have a forward head with two doors and they both latch securely. One popped and started slamming open and closed. I had to dead bolt it for the first time in 10 years with the boat.
It was like walking around in a "fun house" to get to it :D
