I had my boat winterized before last winter. I have not used the boat at all this summer.
am I safe leaving it winterized for a second year or should I have it redone?

I think you will be ok.

I would spray some oil in the cylinders and crank over with the plugs out just to lube them up for the next year.

I would add the right amount of additional fuel stabilizer.

IMHO....the biggest issue is going to be the fuel....is/are the tank/tanks filled? Is the fuel Ethanol? Is it carbed or FI? Fuel in the carb bowl can gum up.

It's an MPI engine. The tank is full with sta-bil and fuel.

Robyn: I will only be able to fog the cylinders not crank them over.

Thanks for the info and advice. I feel better about letting her set for this winter. Maybe next summer I can get out and use her or trade her in.

You will be All right. Just fuel make sure is taken care but do not go over to the extreme and keep adding additives.

Capt Noah: Right! What's up with that?

I have been busy with the final stages of getting my house built. I did some of the work and that took up most of my weekends. And now we have been busy helping my in-laws tear down their house from Hurrican Irene. So I just decided to shut down any thoughts of using the boat this year.

Hopefully next year I will be able to use it. I'd love to sell it over the winter and get me a smaller center console.

I would suggest pumping the old gas out and fill with new gas when you are ready to launch. No amount of stabilizer will prevent phase separation if it sat that long.

When you are ready to re-commission the boat, I'd consider removing the sending unit for the gas tank, and pumping out a sample of gas from the bottom of the tank. Then let it sit in a glass jar and see if it separated. If so you should get the tank pumped. If not you can probably run it, keeping in mind to add high octane fresh gas to make up for the drop in octane (if any) when in storage.....

Thanks for the advice LouC. I made a note of that and put it with the boat keys
