Does anyone know what's going on at the Anchorage? They're not letting me in to get to my own boat without a huge arguement. I have some projects I need to work on and I can only get down there at night. I understand security etc etc but seems everywhere else has made some effort to get power back and they're way behind the 8 ball. Bottom line is that I can't accept "no" anymore to get to my own boat that I paid to have in there.

Anyone have the inside scoop?

BTW, as we all know, the security dudes are cool, just doing their jobs but enough is enough already, I'm not 10 :-).

While I've never seen anything in writing the policy seems to be they don't like anyone working there at night during the winter. I've been there in the past working on my boat from late afternoon and had the security guard knock on the hull and tell me I had to get going once it got late. Regardless of power issues I've always found the policy is no night access off season.

There are no lights in the marina right now.
We were told at the meeting there is noone allowed in marina after dusk until power is restored.
It's for security and safety.

Yup,
Dave is correct and I agree with what they are doing.

It's tough not having access to your boat when you want it. But I can see their point under the current conditions.
If you were in a boatyard or marina you probably would have even more restrictions and many won't even let you work on your own boat at all.
The Anchorage is a pretty good deal for what it is when you think about it.

Okay so all the surrounding area has power back, and apparently, I never got the memo....so, I most likely would have moved my boat elsewhere I guess. Bottom line, some info to us renters would be helpful so that we can plan on when we can work on our boats.

Not that I don't see where they're coming from but, your point WRT other boat yards isn't true. I've had boats in all sorts of situations and never had issues gaining access at night. In fact, I never had issues at the Anchorage in the past, power or not, until now (although this is my first year here since 08). Very frustrating.....but tolerable...much worse things to complain about I guess :-)
