Got a letter from condo board. Some things to note:

- electric is coming back on as transformers were deemed usable.
- slips were dredged to remove debris.
- owners are paying for new fingers and outside poles. Inside poles being done by condo
- marina expects to be back with everything by spring.
- rentals are in high demand, so if you rent, make sure they know you are coming back
- they are charging insurance companies storage fees to get them to remove destroyed boats
- office is being rebuilt

Place should be really nice come spring.
Can't wait to get my new boat in her slip!
 
I called them a couple weeks before Sandy to get pricing on a slip for the little boat. They are nuts in what they are asking. Maybe it pays to own there? IDK, the search continues for a slip
 
What are they asking?
Remember it includes winter storage so I if you don't need that then they will rent without.

Most fees are by slip and not per foot.
 
I dont have my notes infront of me, but I believe they wanted $2850 for the season, no electric (not that I would need it), and its over by the fence that backs to the school. Winter storeage wasnt included, and they dont want my boat there over winter due to it being on a trailer. I told them I would jack the trailer up, nope no good. I said well I have an aluminum cradle for the boat to sit on, then id remove the wheels. No good.

They dont want the trailer there during the summer either. I told them the whole point of me getting a slip is because I have no place to put the trailer when not in use...
 
They don't like trailers stored there. They look crappy.
$2850 sounds high but depends on size.
 
17 footer, with a 5ft beam...

I take pride in my trailer, shes always looking good, no rust no nothing..I can understand that they dont want trailers. I even offered to pay them to store it on a rack!
 
Did you talk to anchorage or east shore?
2 different places in same marina.
Ayc rents for owners.
East shore rents for themselves.
 
Try east shore. They control racks. They allow trailers on their property. They also have slips.

If you feel like driving out to Suffolk county, I know there are slips available at Eastport Marina in Eastport and Center Yacht Club in East Moriches. They're much cheaper and allow trailers to be stored all year. We're out in Eastport and were in CYC with a previous boat. Nice people and marinas in both places. Hy
 
Thanks Hy. The drive from Long Beach to out there is a bit much. Anchorage was just about as far east as I would have gone...
