Anchoring at Montauk

Has anyone anchored in montauk with 5' draft.
Friends spending week at montauk on land and
asking me to come out with boat from greenport
for a few days.
Can I anchor inside montauk and dinghy to shore.
I have 5 ft draft sailboat.

Yes you can and I have done that. Lake Montauk is well protected, big and you should have no problems. My draft was 3', but the water is deep and again, you should have no problems.

Dingy to shore is not an issuse, many places to do that.
