Anchoring On the Petaluma River

Not sure this answers your question, but I've been up that river twice in a 24ft Trophy and had decent water under us the whole time although we were careful to stay in the channel. We made sure to go up and back on mid to high tides and always had 6-8 feet or better most of the way. I do know that once you get too far outside the main channel in can get dicey.

I've seen 40'ers up there. I'm not sure how much trouble he had. A lot has to do with the tides.
There's a little marina just inside entry to the channel and one just before the city. I would call them for the latest.

I've taken our boat up to downtown Petaluma and we have a 5' draft. We had no issues with depth, but paid attention to stay in the channel. I think the biggest challenge will be finding an area sufficiently off the channel with enough depth, but I think it can be done. Let us know how it goes when you get back.
