And so it begins...

Ok now I can post this....

Congrats guys. Nothing like the reward zone. You've waited all Winter for this!

It's a good site to see boats going in. On the other hand I was the first to start working on my boat and looks like I'll be one of the last ones in. Still need a couple of weeks but that's still early for me. I'll take my time and try to do things right. Hope you all enjoy this weekend while I'm bottom painting and cleaning.

You are better off getting your boat in top condition now, sometimes rushing in isn't always the prudent thing to do for a new to you boat.

You will glad that you got it all sorted out now.

The rains, wind and floating debris in April isn't so great for boating anyway.

The good news is we are all done, Washed, waxed and repairs all made.Just need to get the canvas finished which will be a while since wife is doing it after work and weekends. No rush since April is still early and all we do is fish so its a short run, so we bundle up more...

It is nice to get everything finished early so you can sit back and enjoy it...

Next Saturday the low tide in haverstraw will be at ~12:30. Exactly when I was planning on bringing the boat over to SPBM. How low will the water be? Can I get into the slip with the drives down?

It's a new moon today, so the tides will be extra high and extra low. By next Saturday you'll be 1 1/2 weeks past, so it should be a more normal tide. If it's your first time in, I'd recommend waiting for the tide to come up before trying to get in.

This weekend is gonna be crappy, launch next week at noon you will be at high tide.

ok thanks. Dont want to pull a grounding or dock pinball on my first time in the marina.

Should I put wheels under my hull so I can roll in at low tide?

BTW - What is a dock pinball?

Ah - the fine art of hitting EVERYTHING when trying to dock. We used to watch it every Spring with all the new boaters trying to dock the first 20 times.

What ever you do, don't TILT! Nothing worse than draining the deal down the bottom!
