And so it begins...

That can't be right it's $2.79 on land. Maybe in LA the Tax is less.

The cost of fuel in the gulf coast states is less because it is harvested and refined right there, no transport costs.

In northern NJ, diesel on land is in the $1.95-$2.10 range. About the same price as premium gas. Bring your 55 gallon drums over Dave! ;)

Here's a good link to checkout prices...

I had to pick up a few gallons to fix filters on the polisher last week. I went to a station on 9W and paid 2.79 per gallon. I guess I call Panco to see what they are getting.

I just called and they are at $3.69 seems a bit high to me and my tanks a empty.

Real boaters don't use Panco Dave!!! (Sorry, always wanted to say that!)

Seriously though, many of us on this forum will never use Panco again unless they are the only open game and the boat is near empty. Last year when prices started to rise they really stuck it to us by raising prices almost a $1 overnight on FEARS alone. Classic price gouging.

Hogan probably remembers the exact situation better than I but Panco will not get any of our money! (Besides, Haverstraw has had better prices than Panco for the past 2 years, although the last time I check them they were still working with last years fuel and prices...)

Just reread your post and noticed the price of $3.69, Haverstraw is still at $3.60 as of a few weeks ago so again, another case of Panco gouging as I'm sure they are pumping newer fuel and at last years prices till Haverstraw gets their next load!!!!

Rommer that a good site but do they have one for marine prices?

Seatow has a site that is user updated. I know Hogan and I used to update the prices on their but that was a few years ago.

It was actually a couple of years ago when a storm was forecast to hit the gulf coast - a week before the storm hit, Panco jacked their prices up by $1.00/gallon - the storm never hit and Panco never lowered their prices.

I will never buy fuel from them again - and try to persuade every other boater not to buy from them.

Haverstraw is consistently cheaper, they have Valvtec in their gas, their docks are bigger and calmer and they have 3 pump-outs.

You mean you don't enjoy running back and forth to push the green button to turn the other pump on at the other end of the dock!

Dave,
we use Haverstraw, plus Vavltec is added in the diesel as well.

Look at it this way, you are going to either Panco or Haverstraw if you do not have that much fuel in your tanks. And you will be paying what ever the pump reads, just like all of us. It is still better than $5.00 a gallon we were paying on vacation last year in some places. If your low on fuel and need it, you pay for it. It sucks, but it beats sitting in my back yard watching the grass grow.

Hogan,
by the way, thanks to you and Gina for Saturday. I greatly appreciated the invite and hospitality.

Our pleasure, Bob, always lots of laughs!

Are you going to get your boat in the water this year?
