Pascal - thanks for responding. The Dockmaster says the city spent $9M to upgrade that entire section, which included the heads. So, we'll give it a shot.
Joe,
I was just there 2 weeks ago. Slips are fine. Heads are fine. Just realize you are docking in a very public area, not the same as the security of a marina. That said, I have never heard of problems either. Great location to walk right into town.
Brian
Brian made a good point about the publicness of the area... VERY busy and crowded on weekends although after dark it ges quiet very quickly. Felt very safe though. privacy is more of a concern than security
We stay there all the time. If you go for a day dock it is 7$hr. for a 3 hr. max. 2$ft if staying over night.
It is a great location the only problem is you take the chance of getting hit. It is extremely busy on the weekends and there are many close calls and several people do get hit. A mooring is also an option! 24$ for 24hrs. 1st come 1st serve. A new 40' Tiara got creamed by a 60' sport fish that came in last yr. and the SF took off. When I got back to the dock cops and fire depts were on site looking for the SF. Even in a slip if you are larger and stick out into the alley you take that risk. Personally, we love the action and location.
