Annapolis Power Boat Show

Try to get a room at the Marriot: http://www.annapolismarriott.com/

You'll be right at the show and you'll have Pusser's for food and booze. I'd be surprised if they have any open rooms, although in this economy they may. Book soon!

Another option that we did once...get a room away from downtown as it should be a lot cheaper than staying at the Marriott during boat show days. Drive in early, maybe 1-1/2 hours before the show opens and you will find easy parking on the street and have a nice leisurely breakfast at one of the local eateries. Walk around a little and it will be time for the show to open.

Power show is first this yr. and the crew tell me it is a lot harder to switch to sail, since it is much bigger.

Looks like the downtown is booked. There are many other Marriotts around.

My colleague that lives there said to go out of the show area, where the food stands are and run by the community and churches. Said the crab cakes are unbelievable. Can't wait!

Just google your favorite hotel booking site as there are plenty just a few miles away from the harbor area. I think there are at least 5-6 right there at 50 & 301.

We always stay at the Double Tree on Holiday Ct. They have a nice bar, restaurant and free van shuttles back and forth to the show and downtown. Plus a block away is the Festival shopping center with shops and other restaurants.

+1 on the DoubleTree. I used to stay there when I was in Annapolis on business before moving to the Eastern Shore. We haven't gone to the show for a few years but may go this year. If we do it will be on Friday.... never went on a Saturday or Sunday and never will.

As I mentioned in the other thread I stay at this place often when I am on business. It's a great area and the bar and food are excellent, well better than average.

Started building and towing docks yesterday to a pre stage area. 362 platforms at this point. Quite different this yr, since there is also a brokerage show included on the west side of spa creek bridge. Same ticket price includes both shows.

The best place to stay, if at all possible, is your boat. There should be plenty of slips available and you can walk to the show and not worry about transportation. That town is crazy during that time staying on the boat makes it extremely convenient.

We plan on attending on Friday. We usually get to town early and used to park in the lot next to the MB dealer. The guy charged us $20 but it was a convenient walk to the show. Not sure if that option is still available so we'll probably park at the stadium and shuttle in and out. Anyone else going on Friday?

That lot is the parking for 'Rockfish rest.' that is closing, but diag. to the MB is the elementary school lot, and the same charge.
It will be an interesting future for the show, since it was sold this week. I believe that Monday council meeting has an agenda to offer additional yrs. to the group that purchased the show. The mayor of Annapolis was forced to walk the plank off a pirate ship in the harbor ( ego alley) this morning since he didn't have the Market House open when promised.

Dusty,

FYI: We'll be at ACM next weekend (Friday-Sunday) as we have Navy Football tickets. Friday I'm thinking of going to Boatyard as I haven't been there in years. Saturday, after the game, we'll just out and about. If you're around, let me know. I'll PM you my cell #.
