The season goes on. Chilly at night but beautiful during the day...

It looks liek you were the only one out there????

Where was the rest of the crew?

Jonathan

Mike was at Croton only if they moved it to his dock!

Darn dock-marys! Let a little wind keep you at home ;)

Saturday night was great. Had the whole place to ourself. Had some visitors on Sunday. A very relaxing weekend.

Yeah, but the 28 lb roast pig was just too much to turn away from!

I know the real reason you didn't come out was there were ripples on the water in Bowline!

We where worried about that submerged item everyone is hitting in the entrance.

Oh forgot to mention, nice pictures John....

Thanks Butch.

So the early season channel blockage excuse err reason raises its ugly head after what 14 or 15 successful entries/exits eh? :)

That beats my none to date. Nice weekend for sure. The photos tell it all.

I dont know what it is but I keep hearing of hitting objects in the entrance...Made me think twice about it Saturday morning. All that traffic must have stirred it up again.....Sure hope its gone by columbus day!

Butch

I truly believe it is people staying to far to the left. Very easy to misjudge that spit of land that comes out once you are in the channel so to speak. I bet these people are not keeping an eye on the depthfinder. And with the prevailing north winds drifting toward the land is harder to avoid unless you are really paying attention.

BTW - I find it interesting your marina is talking about hitting stuff while the Haverstraw buzz is that the channel has been blown open by the barges going in there. They swear the wall is gone and it's perfectly safe to go in. When I tell them Mike's kids where standing on it 2 weeks ago they say, well most of its gone.

Go figure....

The wall is definitly there..Have seen it alot since the barge was there...I agree, alot of people get to close to te shore line and hit the bricks there....I think it was only one barge that was there for several days...It also was a shallow draft barge, use pumps to fill it for ballast wen they where working on the plants intake. I was hoping to watch them take it out of there buit we missed it. I was curious as to how they did get thru there.

Borrowing from todays theme, as a vegetarian, I'm extremely offended by those pictures.

I love pork, but I never could get into eating at a pig roast. That just does not look that appetizing. (except the beer on the right!)

Geez, that's gross looking...but I bet after a few beers nobody even noticed....

just wanted to let you guys know. the barges in bowline are not there to work on the inlet. they are there to transport material from the power plant that was never built. they are barging the material to texas. these barges are loaded with material when they leave bowline. i know they brought someone in to check the channel to make sure it was clear. they are expecting one more barge to come back for one more load. i have not heard if the barge hit anything on the way in or out.
