A Discovery Bay man died Sunday when the personal water craft he was riding struck something, killing 23-year-old Jeffrey Rinne.
The seriously injured woman who was with him was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
The accident was reported about 4:30 p.m. and occurred in Old River Sough and Highway 4, just east of Discovery Bay, said Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jimmy Lee.
It was possible that the two hit a bridge support, he said. He asked that anyone who may have seen the accident call the Sheriff's Office at 925-427-8507.
