Anyone heading to the delta this weekend?

We are heading out on Friday morning for a Sacramento Bayliner Club outing. Destination is a small island up near the Meadows where friends have docks and island space. May see you out there on Sunday during our return. Have a great weekend!

We're taking some Delta newbies out for a day trip starting out here in Disco Bay, heading to Stockton to show them the new marina and then up towards the Meadows. We'll have an impromptu lunch at one of the places that we'll pass by and then meander our way back to DB.
Should be a nice day for it...

Still got a few thing to do on the house, but if it gets hot, I can jump off the dock. Water is starting to get warmer in DB and judging by all the trash that ends up in our cove, it must be summer.

BayAreaBoater, I heard firsthand last year that several boats got into some skinny water with submerged obstacles that caused bottom and running gear damage while running up Snodgrass Slough near Walnut Grove toward the Meadows. These experienced delta boaters vowed not to return until the area has been dredged. Y'all be careful out there.
Now it's looking like I'll be down there on Sunday, if at all. Family responsibilities call...

It's calmer than yesterday at least. But you can always count on the wind being twice as bad out in the Delta than it is in DB. So the ride on the San Joaquin will be an adventure. And the wind appears to be coming at just the right direction. The Potato Patch probably looks right out of Deadliest Catch.
