I was discussing the demise of the Blue Plate SPecial with the wife tonight. After getting to the punch line of that story she asked me if I have heard anything from Steve and Nancy and the MilLennyum crew.
Has anyone been in touch with them lately?

Have not heard from them in years. Steve was buying and selling cars last I heard. They sold the boat shortly after the 2001 Bimini trip.

There are many "among the missing" from that trip as far as this forum is concerned. Ron resurfaced recently (I still owe him a phone call), Ken Golding, John and Mava from the 2001 and 2002 trips. Bob Richards still posts from time to time. Pete tried to make it over in 2005 and had to turn back due to mechanical issues.

I have been in contact with Ron off site since the trip, same with Pete. However I havent heard from Pete in a couple of years. I have been in contact with Bob and even visit his place in Astor (the lucky dog, what a great place).

THere are a lot of people from that first trip havent been heard from in a long time.

That was a great trip, I was talking with my wife the other day about the Bahamas and the difference is where I keep the boat now it would take about $2600 in fuel to do it.

We were thinkng about going this summer, then realized we dont have enough time to get passports before our trip.

Paul,

You will not need a passport to visit the Bahamas if you are arriving by boat in 2007. This is scheduled to change in 2008 as I recall.

Passports with the expedited service are less than 2 weeks (2X the normal fee).

Dave, that is great news cuz we are told it will take 10 weeks to get a passport

Just found out when we picked up the passport forms that was put into effect on January 1 2007

Paul,

Go ahead and get the passports, you are going to need them to go anywhere soon. But, you will not need them in the event you are traveling by private vessel to the Bahamas until next year.

New ones are very high tech, chip embedded and very fancy!

Dave

THanks Dave. We are going to get them so we wont have to worry about it if we decide to go by our boat or on a cruise
