A guy came over trying to sell me a fiberglass polishing product called "Freedom" while my boat was at the shop getting a new engine installed. He said it was a good product that was easy to apply and has good results on oxidized gel coat and hull paint. I told him that I would like to see the product. (he didn't have any with him at the time because he lived right up the street.)I waited around for about 30 minutes talking to the mechanic and he never returned. Well, I came back 3 days later to find that the guy had polished a vertical "stripe" of this stuff from top to bottom on the side of my boat! Needless to say I was not happy and still am not! So, has anyone heard of this stuff? It seemed to do a fairly good job but I don't know how easily it applied or removed or it's durability. Not a good way to make a sale I'll tell you that! I am not impressed with his method! My boat is lightly oxidized and yes I read Mike's polishing page but was wondering about this stuff if anyone has heard of it. Thanks!

I have seen it under several names. Here is a website for a product with that name.

If you google waterless car cleaner you'll tally up about 1/2 million hits.

I used it on an old VOLVO. Not bad, but nothing like a Meguiars 1,2,3 shine that I put on it the year before.

Thanks KIDa. Since I have not seen the bottle or anything I can only assume that this is the same stuff. He is selling the bottle for $15. I thought that was a bit pricy but we will see. I want to actually see the stuff. If he ever comes back! The guy who is working on my engine knows him so I should be able to catch up to him at some point here in the near future. BTW I liked the Zappa quote! Being a fan of his for a long time it sometimes surprises me to see someone else quote some of his thoughts. Thanks!
