Anyone know?

I think the bubbler systems were common before the ice eaters came out. They work, but I don't think they clear out as large of an area. Someone on my canal used to have one, kept the area just around the boat clear. The ice eaters are nice because it's one unit with no extra hoses or pipes and easy to store.

I've used a bubbler to protect my floating dock out back for the past four years and it works just fine. Problem is, you can't put it into the water too soon in the season or the zync gets corrodes and has to be replaced.

"Al Grover's Marina in Freeport, NY"

One word.....excellent! Had my boat there a couple of seasons.

"surveyor?"

BoaterEd's very own Al Prisco. He very proficiently surveyed my boat at Al Grover's, and knows the place.
