anyone replace thier good windlass ?

My good rope only windlass did not work well. sent my windlass to good for quote, but not too keen on thier customer service. They don't amswer thier phone. took me 2 days to get some one on the line. Has any one replaced with a different brand? how hard was it to Install?
 
I'm surprised to hear you had a bad experience with them. I upgraded a rope only to a rope and chain from them and they did a great job with service, price, etc.

I know it's a small operation. Something must be up. Sorry your having a hard time... and that I can't help you :-(
 
Could be that its summer time....and some staff is on vacation ?? I've also been thinking of going to a Good rope/chain model ....to replace my all rope. Just that its on the bottom of the list......being I don't hang on the hook much.

I've heard only good things about their rope/chain model.
 
Thier Product may be good, but thier support is lousy. been trying for 3days to find out a status on what is required to repair my windlass. all i get is answering machine or busy. I'v left 2 messages and 1 email none have been responded to. One more day of this and I think I will try lewmars support line and see how long it takes them to respond. So far i am not impressed with Good
 
going on 4 days right now, no an answer on phone or email. I think I am going to write them off today and look at a lewmar pro fish 700 or 1000
I would definitely not recommend this company
 
I received excellent service from them. They were very helpful fielding my calls about installation, breakers etc. I also bought an extended bow pulpit so I could put a drop through anchor which involved several calls. Spoke to them again years later about replacing the motor. Good service all times. I suspect they are super busy, doing tradeshows or the like.
 
Took them a week to return my phone call and two days for e-mail.
 
In all fairness, it seems to be one guy that does the calls.I can understand but it's frustrating.
 
When I dealt with them, their customer service was excellent. They answered my calls, helped me with the problem I was having and sold me the correct parts to fix my windlass.
 
Maybe they had to downsize when they didn't get any stimulus money????
