It's awfully quiet here, is anyone still boating?

We're in and on the boat until November.

I'll be out fishing until the end of october. I did notice a few of the trailerable boats are gone. Some people who came up every weekend all summer haven't been here since Labor day. The pool is closed, school started and so did all their kids activities that's why. I don't mind an uncrowded river.

I have noticed the lack of activity as well. When you say "in and on until" are you living on board until the end of the season? If so sounds good to me. I plan on making the best of this coming weekend and dropping if off to pull the following weekend. I'm hoping to get a jump on cleaning the hull this year and praying the bottom paint held this year. I'm already thinking in terms of next season.
Believe it or not my wife asked me to list the boat and consider moving up I may put it up and see what happens I love this boat and I'm in no rush to move on but if the right deal comes along I may jump on it, but I suspect I will have this boat for years to come. I'm OK with this as you know they are great boats.

We won't pull the boat until early November. Until then, we'll be on it every weekend, and whatever weeknights we can squeeze in.

The season is too short as it is, why rush the boat out of the water before I have to?

As Ken said "school started and so did all their kids activities that's why". This year I hope to take advantage of the weather and store the boat prepped for spring and maybe get in early. I don't have a lot to do so a couple of decent weekends should do just fine and I will still be hanging out on board just not floating.

Luckily for us, neither school, nor kid's activities ever forced us to end the season early. Our kids love being on the boat, we would take them to whatever activities/sports they had, then come back to the boat with them.

It's still warm enough in November to haul the boats, clean and winterize them and get them covered.

The secret to getting in early is getting up there in March and prepping it for the season.

Actually Mike I will disagree but only in part. A well prepped boat will go in quickly if all you need is a coat of wax and maybe a bottom touch up including zincs.
Our trick was to have all of the materials ready to go at haul. Before we pulled the plumbing was done. Then with the engines warm from moving her to the pit, we could have her ready for a freeze in about 1 hour of having her blocked. Once you have diesels you learn to winterize them when they are warm. The electronic fired diesel may spin easier for winterization but having all the materials there when you haul makes all the difference in the world.

I'm usually one of the first there in the spring anyone at the yard knows that. However I usually plan a lot of project that come together in the spring. Last year was the platform and the dash and of coarse the bottom paint that was enough in itself. This year I have to add a couple of supports for the platform and bottom touch up. Nothing major planned this year however I will pickup and install a sat dish but that's an easy job being I already installed the mount and most of the wiring is done just the feed to the arch and I'm done. I have stayed in late before but I found I didn't get much use and the following year I pulled a little earlier maybe next year I wont pull at all that is if the bottom looks good this year I see. I think it's great that you stay in late I wish if I did it would get more use but history says not.

My wife and I got back to the boat today around 2 after we provisioned up for the storm. I enjoy being and working from the boat. Looks like the weather will clear by Saturday and we should have a great weekend once the storm clears by mid day Friday. We will be in until December 15th. I was hoping to take the boat to North Carolina this winter but that's not going to happen this year.

Where I keep my boat for the winter they are great they don't block me in so it's not a problem to launch pretty much at will. They have been great very helpful and and professional. They also put me on blacktop which I'm thankful for.

I'm pulled & a little cleanup then shrink-wrap for the winters sleep. [:-weepn] .[:-weepn]

Foilage changes have started but it hasn't changed much until you get up in the mountains by Hunter.
