Here is a Kentucky Afield video about an asain carp commercial fishing tournament held March 12th and 13th 2013 at Kentucky and Barkley lakes in south west Kentucky. http://youtu.be/CQYJd-7iQb8

Over 83,000 pounds of asian carp were caught over a two day period. The winner of the tournament caught over 28,500 pounds of carp in two days.

These things are going to present a HUGE problem for future generations of fisherman, not only in Kentucky but all along the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. Numerous agencies are working hard to keep the fish out of the great lakes, but most people agree it is only a matter of time before they make their way into the great lakes. If that happens billions of dollars could be lost by commercial fisherman.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this problem over the coming years.

Put a bounty on them and they will go the way of the Passenger Pigeon.

I doubt it. Those Carp can out multiply anything you do.
I want someone to make a Sperm or Egg or something that will stop the reproduction.

I said a long time ago...make fertilizer outta them...or animal feed. There's a giant market out there.

Those look like the carp we have in the Delta and in many of the fresh water reservoirs in the foothills. Very bad!
