Anybody ever been to the AC Airshow by boat? It's on Friday 8/17 this year and I was thinking about taking a trip down there to check it out.

I'll be traveling from the Tuckerton area. Any tips?

I will be vacationing in Ocean City and I'm taking my boat. I'm only 25' so it would have to be calm for me to be out in the ocean. Any good spots in the back bays?

I don't think you can actually see the show from the back bays. I've been by boat three times. I'll be there again this year for my fourth. This is the first time it's on a Friday. The city has always been packed on the Wednesday shows when the weather was good....right now...the long term forecast is for GREAT weather....but that's just a forecast.

BTW....I called earlier today and Farley's state marina is sold out.

Dominic,

Where do you anchor up? Are there security zones set up?

Went to the show today. Spent about 90 minutes in the ocean before retreating to the back bay. The ocean was rough! There had to be 500+ boats out there today. Still was able to see the show from theback bay but wasn't as good a view as off the beach in the ocean. Still a great time with my 17 year old son.

It can be a real adventure if the Ocean isn't cooperating. You can see the show from the back bays but it's nothing like being about a mile off the beach. We missed the show this year.
Karl I'm in Total Marine accross the Tuckerton Creek from Shelter Cove marina right near the entrance to the Tuckerton Creek I'm curious where you are located in Tuckerton?

Hi Bill,

I keep my boat behind my house on Chesapeake Ct. (Off South Boom). Total Marine is right at the end of my block and I can see the top of your boat from my back yard. I've passed you many times on the creek, mostly on Monday evenings while heading out to watch the sunset.
We're there usually from Sunday evening until Tuesday afternoon.

Showtime my boat sustained major hull, rail and deck damage from Sandy. I'm not sure what route I will be taking with the boat. I am not in agreement with my insurance company on the repairs needed to bring her back to shape.
My wife and I enjoyed cruising at dusk into the flats where we would often anchor.
