AURORA SURE STEP?

This stuff is the best I've tried. Make sure the non skid is really clean, or it can look a little gray. When wet it has really good grip. It makes cleaning the non skid very easy, just a wash down is usually all it takes. It won't last all season, be prepared to redo it twice to three times a season.

I second Shel's opinion. It seems to do what it claims. Without a doubt it protects non-skid without making it slippery. It does seem to add some grip as well. Just follow their instructions. Depending on the condition of your non-skid you may need to use Boat Scrub and then Boat Clean before you apply Sure Step. I did my entire boat with Boat Scrub last Spring (it really brought back the gel) and then hit it with 2 coats of Boat Shine and Sure Step. I did another single coat of both in November (boat is uncovered in a slip all winter). And I just did a single coat of Shine and Step the other week and things look great. I'm hoping to get through the season and then hit it again in the fall.

I see I'm in good company with the other Aurora users. Funny, though, I get comments on how good the boat looks too, but I can't ever get anybody to try Aurora on their boats. They keep using what hasn't been working for them. Go figure.
So where do the rest of you buy your Aurora products from? I went direct the first time, but found a much better deal out from Southwest Marine in Arizona. Cheaper prices and very quick shipping.

Kurt, do you use just the sure step for nonskid or do you use the boat scrub and boat shine also. I've used the sure step on the nonskid and its great, but I wasn't sure if I would get that super shine on the hull without using the buffing machine.

I'm using a good bit of their products. If your boat needs some help with oxidation, try Boat Scrub followed by Boat Shine. My boat's a 2002, but the first owner (from 2002-2004) didn't ever put anything on her (and I doubt washed her either). I tried other products, but I was losing the battle. The color was going chalky. Last spring I did the entire boat with Boat Scrub. By hand for all shiny surfaces. By brush for non-skid. I then brushed Boat Clean on the non-skid as per directions. Shiny surfaces were given a coat of Boat Shine. Non-skid of course got Sure Step. I did a quick coat of Boat Shine and Sure Step last November and another just a few weeks ago. She looks great. Boat Scrub takes the most work, but it's not as bad as rubbing compound. And if you're not chalky, just use Boat Shine. I think you'll be happy.
Oh, and as for Boat Clean....I had some vinyl seat areas that were looking nasty. I tried vinyl cleaners with no help. I hit them today with Boat Clean and they look like new. I don't know what they make this stuff out of, but it does work.

For the past two years I've used the Aurora Sure Step with good results. In fact, I've used six or seven Aurora products and they all worked well, with the exception of their Bottom Wax. If your boat is permanently moored in salt water it needs to be bottom painted.
This year I tried Star Brite Non Skid cleaner and IMO it was easier to apply and worked better than the Sure Step. Long term durability will have to be determined versus the Sure Step.
As an aside, I also used Yacht Brite Buff Magic and Pro Polish instead of Aurora Boat Scrub and Boat Shine. Both of those materials performed extremely well.

I did my boat with boat scrub and boat shine this past weekend and it looks great. The Aurora stuff really works great. Now I'm hoping the boat shine holds up for the season as last year I used collinite and the hull was ok, but everything above the gunnel needed wax after only 1 month. I guess only time will tell.
