So AYC is promoting a sewer guy to pump out boats at 45 a pop ? ARE U kidding me .... Hope hes wearing a mask.

Wonder whos getting a kick back

I don't think kick backs go on there anymore. Billy in the office and Ed, the commodore are pretty straight up guys from what I see. Also, it appears the Ed, has done well for himself and really does not need that kind of money.

Back to the $45.00 charge. At first I too thought that was a high price, but if read the email, that price is an "on demand" price. In other words, Its not like the service is going to the marina at a scheduled time to do 20 or 30 boats at a clip. So if you take into consideration the costs to roll a truck, driver and time, I get the price. I hope the pumpout will still exist at the AYC, $5.00 to do it yourself is a lot better than $45.00 :)
 
I used this guy when my current boat was delivered in January 2013.
Boat was shipped with a full tank.
At the time I thought $45 was cheap.
For someone who can't get to pumpout or just came back from a big trip with a full tank and no time to pump out it seems cheap.
 
Andy, if I go that far out to dump, will I still be able to see land?
 
Walt, I get the costs but 45 is crazy. I pump out every weekend in the summer. PRice makes no sense.

Joe, You will have to go high up in your tower & get out your Zeiss optical binocs & look very carefully to the NORTH.
 
Many years ago there was a guy that came to the AYC weekly to pump out boats. I do not remember the exact figure, but for approx $15 per boat per week he would pump you out and add chemicals for an extra $5. Don't quote me in exact dollar amount. But then he raised his price by approx. $10 per week and then he was gone. It was a great service that I took advantage of for the short time he was in business. it sounds like Rob's family is similar to mine. and do not care to understand that a boat head is not like aur toilet at home, which means I pump out every weekend. $40 sounds steep, especially since it would be a weekly fee for me. But if he was around end of season, I would do it since I normally wait until last minute (December) for that last pump out and sometimes have trouble finding a place still open.
 
SH$T IN THE HOLDING TANK IS A PROBLEM. With all the taxes we pay, you would think there would be more pump out places. It should be free, but Gees, cover the cost and I am in. AYC, use to be free if you buy fuel, otherwise it was like 5 bucks. I hope they still offer that service:(
 
Walt i so agree. Wantagh park Pump out is either broken or a boats in the slip. After Sandy we lost our pump out at my marina. No plans to reinstall it .

There is a town operated pump out boat in freeport, but sadly no matter how much we donate to his education fund he appears to get lost all summer. So inlet bound i usually go .

Do you have the option of a lectrosan there or are you a total NDZ.
 
Is Tanner pump out still there ?? I used that pump out a lot until the kids vandalized it.

Don't know Don,
Good pumpout (at least a couple years ago) was Bergen Point (Fuel Station There). Problem there is it is a tight canal near the fuel dock and a small area to dock.
 
Babylon Fishing station ,just past Babylon docks used to be free if you were fueling up. Idk anymore though.
 
Bergen is back as I took a ride there by car.
Not sure what water is like.
It used to suck better than.....ah, you know what I was gonna say!
 
I only go to Bergen at high tide, and I mean summer high tide, not our early season north wind high tides.
