Baltimore Inner harbor Marinas

We will be visiting Baltimore in a few weeks. From a previous thread, there seemed to be much going on at Inner Harbor east. We have been at Baltimore Marine Center before, and had a great time. We were looking to be in a little closer to the Inner Harbor Basin. Anyone been to the Inner Harbor Marine Center this year? What is the status of Inner Harbor East? Any feedback on the city docks??

If you don't have a car to park, Inner Harbor East is a great spot (parking is really rough right now though). Great staff, and fantastic location. There's construction going on, but that's just about everywhere downtown these days. Baltimore Marine Center is certainly nice too, but for walking distance you're limited to Canton. I've got friends that do the city docks, but it's not that much more for a secure slip at Inner Harbor East. I say try it for a night or two and you can always move if you don't like it.

FYI: Ever eaten at Roy's? Fantastic 4-star place next to IHE. There's also James Joyce Pub and about a million other places, including the endless choices of Baltimore's "Little Italy" about 3-4 blocks away.

Inner Harbor East is a nice marina, I have stayed there many times. We prefer to be closer to the action so we usually stay At the Inner Harbor Marina which is owned by the Baltimore marine center. It is located next to the Science center and at the Rusty Scupper Restaurant. It is the closest marina to the waterfront. The Public docks at the front of the harbor are not secure and the staff is horable. I will only go there if I am taking a day trip. The Inner harbor Marina is all new and has the best view of the city at night. As you enter the Inner Harbor You will see the Rusty Scupper on your Port and the Marina is built next to it, It is also gated. Parking can be a problem but has the best location in Baltimore.
