Anyone have a good report on what the storm surge will be? As of 9:00 this morning water was close to top of bulkhead on Forked River

I was at our marina today at noon and i had to drive my truck thru 6 inches of water, it was 6 inches below the decking on our finger piers. From what you were telling me Irene's worst was at the finger height. The boys at the marina were anticipating about 3-4' above that. I tend to agree. If the ocean will be getting 10, our back bays will probably receive half of that. That is my uneducated guess. Hope you guys are ok over there. I am not allowed to ride out the storm, the mrs said i would be single afterwards.

the full moon will make it worse, it all depends on what time the storm hits.

Actually, SHE might the one single afterwards...

Hi Bob! I am planning on getting up early and heading over to look at the water if it isnt to bad, well before sunrise. I am staying with the inlaws in bayville so I am not to far away. Best of luck to you too! I will keep you posted....

And yes, gentlemen.....I know I could be swept away and killed if I had stayed, but I would be single because she would kill me, not sandy....

Update: Just got back from the bay at berkley island park. We are at the same point we were at yesterday as far as barnegat bay goes. The waves on the bay are just bigger so they are crashing on peoples properties. I saw pics of the ocean breaching dunes in seaside park and beach haven. In fact, reserves in harvey cedars are being deployed to beach haven to rescue those who havent left. Looks like the ocean will meet the bay in quite a few new places this time.

Thanks Bill. My parents live on a logoon in Tuckerton, water is 4 feet above normal and 8" from coming in the house - they never saw it like this before. They will be flooded.

The marina is 2' over the parking lot. I'm scared for your parents end...beach haven is bad...the ocean is meeting the bay. We have had no power since 1. A lot of things will be forever changed as we have known it

Bob, pm me your # I would love to keep talking, I have no power and this site isn't android friendly

My parents house as of 9:45 yesterday morning, it flooded thereafter
