Bathroom Shower/Sink Lift Pump for Grey Water

The lift pump below our bathroom accessed by removing the toilet paper compartment is not working on our cruiser. How do I check the float? Is there an easy way to check the pump?

To check the float, you will need to lift it with your finger or something like a coat hanger.
If I were you, I would pull the pump and check that the impeller or screen is not plugged up with hair and soap scum.

Is it getting power?
Does the float switch move freely?
Does the pump come on when the float switch is raised? If not, either the switch or the pump is defective.
Are any of the hoses (or the pump) clogged with soap, hair, etc.?

Mine requires periodic maintenance I am using a Rule box. It has a great trap that catches hair and well I'll call it slime. I also check the impeller when I am doing the maintenance and usually take a paint brush with bilge cleaner and scrub everything down with it in the box including the sides than I flush with fresh water. I have also at times but Vinegar down the hoses leading to the box to disinfect the box and hoses.

I forgot to say that many of these installations have a seperate switch for the shower sump in addition to the float switch. Look for one and make sure it is "ON".
