Who else has their boat in a wet slip?

Looks like I'll be digging mine out Sunday afternoon. I haven't put on her winter cover yet, but I did get the bridge enclosure down last weekend. Hope the bridge and cockpit covers survive this one.

I went down to my boat yesterday to make sure my Fisher Canvas cover was good to go before the big storm.

Current conditions on the bay near the bay bridge show wind at over thirty knots with gusts to 40 knots. Air temperature about 27 degrees. Heavy snow.

went down yesterday and hooked up the heaters and shut all sea-cocks, Raining in Va bch but the boat is 60 miles north in Hayes, Va. might go look see Sunday.

14" here at Thomas Pt. and still comin down. Blower has passed once so far, and had a 2 hr. repair removing the sat. paper from the chute system. I forgot it was buried somewhere!!

I visited the marina today and was pleasantly surprised to find everything in fine shape!

The wind blew most of the snow from the exposed areas because the only accumilation was on the windward side of the bow- which had up to 30" of snow. The boat had a noticable list to port.

My 'snow brum' made short work of eliminating it. These work really well on a boat beacause they can't scratch the gelcoat.

We're under shed and have about 2' of snow on her. Going down tomorrow to use my dust pan and get the snow off. Glad you made out ok arks!

I just ordered new snow brooms from our industrial supplies (Barnes Distribution) for use on my bus fleet. They extend to 16' and cost about $50 each. If you get one do not leave it out in the sun because like anything else, UV will make them brittle and they'll break..... hence, why I just ordered a bunch. :(

I bought 3 online (2 for gifts). Don't remember the name of the place but I found it using Google. I think I paid about $25 plus a couple bucks shipping for each. They're not as large as the ones MikeeH ordered- these only extend about 4'.
I've also seen the smaller ones for sale at new car dealerships.

Here's what I dealt with today (after cleaning up at home and then at the office):

Oh well. A couple hours of work and everything was back to normal. No damage. I'm just glad I had a plastic shovel with me.

You only shoveled half of the dock...

I'll remember that when, and if, I get to retire. Thanks for rubbing that in, Dan. :-)
