It appears my battery combiner is finally dead. My set up is a single alternator, with 2 batteries (one starting and one house)

Any thoughts or recommendations on brands I should look at? The last one, original lasted 10 years and there is no labeling on the device.

The system is also hooked to a ProMariner 1240i charger.

My question is do you need one? I had 2 batteries in my Regal 2465 and a 1 All 2 switch. On odd days the 1 would be house. On even days, the 2 would be house. Honda Gennie as a reserve.

Underway on all. AGM batteries. Worked for me for as long as I owned the boat.

I did give that a thought but Volvo motors require a starting battery. I don't feel like replacing a $1200 ECM. My house battery is a deep cycle.

I would suggest a high current BlueSea ACR with the remote switch. This way you can charge either or both batteries depending on how you set up the ACR and the switch allows you to disconnect the ACR if needed, allows it to run in auto charge mode or parallel the batteries for emergency starting.
